What do I get from my uni life?
That is the question ain't it? What is it with uni life? Your cliche "Oh it is the best time of your life". I would agree and disagree at the same time for me. This will not be some long post. This will just be the summary of it all.
Personally for me it is everything. To specify, it is the journey of it all from the minor events to the big picture. The big picture helps you not to lose sight while the minor events aids you in putting the puzzle pieces together that do make up the big picture. For me I could not extract either one of them. Both lenses needed to co-exist to make this life fruitful. All right I am probably confusing you. Haha
Let me make it simpler. There were only two things basically for me that mattered. One is the failures and wrong decisions I made. No matter how painful the experience was or how messed up I am. If I had the chance, I would not change a thing. It was those wrong decisions that steered me, with the right attitude to the right direction. It was what thought me humility, dependency, relationships, selflessness, and transparency.
Second, the relationships in itself. It really depends with this one. Depends on how bold one was to invest in a relationship as well. Friends and family. To truly invest in someone gives rise to the risk of being truly hurt. But while there were those seasons, it is how someone reciprocates to that friendship that is priceless.
Let me be clear. Bringing up these two facts does not make the rest of the elements in your uni life any less significant. Academics, discipline, management of funds, health and what not is not any less important. But from a personal point of view it was what really stood out. But as I said earlier, all fo these aspects matter because life is a constant zooming in and zooming out from the big picture to know when to focus on the here and now and when to focus on the future. To know when the nitty gritty details of life fluster you up too much that you may lose sight of what matters and when those details help you give a better perspective of what the bigger picture is.
So this will be the last post as a uni student. Thank you for the lecturers who stimulated thought and challenged me. Thank you for my friends who stood by my side even in my lowest moments. Thank you for the CF that has brought me to great heights. Thank you for HELP Uni that has become the platform of all of these events be it good and bad. And thank you 'me' for being dumb to make the wrong choices.
Will I have some regrets? Probably? Time pass by and not everything stays the same. Friends will do come and go and that is just reality. But I am truly grateful that through it all, God was always with me. He has held me till the end tis chapter and will continue to do so.
