We need more Philips Disclaimer : I am not saying Peter wants the center stage. I am using him as an analogy that these days in the age of the digital world emphasising the ATTENTION ECONOMY where everything is drawing our attention away and the church is trying to get the attention of its members, comes the rise of celebrity pastors and wanting to reach the millions to share the gospel.  Is that an issue? Something for you to ponder. My thesis today is to state that " There are too many Peters and too little Phillips"  To me, it is easy to be a Peter in the context of reaching the millions. It is easy to have the fame get in to your head and justify we need to reach the masses. You get evangelism programs that market their effectiveness by the number of sinners prayer being said. First off, I am in no way proposing a replacement of our Sunday meetings in church. I am in no way proposing a new way of how we should do church. Again, my definition of church in this context is a community of believers gathering together in the name of Christ. Being his ekklesia.
